Chief Justice of Balochistan High Court has reestablished the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC). A few months back, the President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi ordered to dissolve the PMDC. But now the Balochistan High Court has ordered to restore PMDC.
A division bench of Balochistan High Court under the supervision of Chief Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel and Justice Abdullah Baloch ordered to suspend the presidential order of dissolving PMDC.
Dr. Arif Alvi approved a new PMDC ordinance according to which the PMDC was to be resolved and a new its working was supposed to be under Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC). The ordinance was made on October 19 and the very next day the building of PMDC was sealed and about 220 employees were terminated. Also, their salaries were frozen by this order.
The employees of PMDC did a protest outside the building of PMC and a petition was submitted by the employees of the PMDC and their petition has been answered positively. Also, Balochistan High Court ordered to immediately pay the salaries to the employees.
