The COVID-19 positivity rate is increasing vigorously, therefore on Monday, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government decided to shut down educational institutes in a few KPK districts. In a recent media conference, the minister for Education Shahram Tarakai said that after reviewing the current situation of COVID-19, we finalize to close all the private and public educational institutions including cadet colleges, model schools, madaris, academies and tuition centres till April 11. They shut down schools in the following districts including district Bajaur, Khyber, Shangla, Dir Upper, Abbottabad and Haripur till April 11, 2021.

Added more, he also strictly ordered students not to visit schools for any reason during this period of closure. Other than that, only management and teaching staff allowed to attend their respective institutions as per requirement by the head of the institutions strictly in accordance with SOPs. Teachers should only visit the school to prepare and record online lectures for assignments or homework for students.

Protecting students and all staff members from this amid COVID-19 is our foremost responsibility. Therefore, we do not play and take risks with the lives of people. As per details, minister for Education Shahram Tarakai also announced that educational institutions would gradually close in other districts too if corona cases continued to increase there.
