The government has decided to implement the Single National Curriculum (SNC) from next year. So, from the next academic session, the students of primary classes will get the education according to the single curriculum.
To make this decision successful, the government has confirmed the syllabus and the publication of the textbook is under process. However, now SNC is only for the primary classes, but the government will implement it to the high grades in phases.
So, the government will start to apply the Single National Curriculum in 2022 for the middle classes (6th to 8th). While in the final phase, SNC will be for the high grades (9th to 12th).
Purpose of Single National Curriculum (SNC)
About SNC, Shafqat Mahmood stated that it is essential to have a single curriculum in the country. Through this, every student will have an equal opportunity to gain something. Students will able to grab opportunities without any socio-economic problems.
However, Sindh Education Minister opposed this decision of SNC. he said that we have already made a lot of improvements in the curriculum. However, he said that we would take this matter under consideration to take the final decision.
