On Thursday, Karachi University issued a notification regarding the approval of Two-year Conventional Degree Programs. The Academic Council of the University of Karachi finally agreed to continue the conventional degree programs. The University of Karachi released this statement yesterday. They formed a committee for the phase-wise implementation of the two-year associate degree programs and the four-year BS programs proposed by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
KU Academic Council decided to defer the two-year associate degree programs till June 2022. The Academic Council meeting held at the Arts Auditorium and was chaired by the KU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi. However, restoring the bachelor’s and master’s programs taken in light of the recommendations of the committee headed by Professor Jamil H Kazmi. Till now, the University of Karachi waiting for a clarification from the HEC on various agendas.
