On 15 April 2021, the Lahore High Court Issued the orders to the Federal Education Ministry and British Council. The court issued the notice against the petition of A/O Level physical exams during COVID-19. However, Barrister Hassan Khan Niazi filed the plea of many students in the court.
The students stated that due to Covid-19, they wouldn’t be able to complete their syllabus. Now, the government forces them to appear in the physical exams despite the increasing cases of COVID-19. Thus, students said that physical exams would put their and their families’ lives in danger.

Other than that, students also informed the Lahore High Court that Cambridge offered an option to switch into School assessed grades. Cambridge offered this option to the countries facing a high rate of COVID-19 cases. In this regard, Cambridge provided the government with information about the final decision by 17 April 2021. Otherwise, the O-Level physical exams will be on 04 May 2021, while the A-Level exams on 26 April 2021.
Thus, the students requested the court to ask the government about the school-assessed grades. Therefore, after listening to the students, the Lahore High Court ordered the education ministry to submit their answers in this regard by 21 April 2021.
