On 17th June 2021, Punjab Education Minister posted a video on Twitter. In the video, he talked about the School-Based Assessment (SBA). He stated that the school-based Assessment implemented from grade one to eight students. Firstly, the Punjab government issued this Assessment for grade 5. But due to the rapid increase in COVID-19, we haven’t promoted it for other classes. However, this year we decided to introduce the school-based Assessment on one to eight classes. Through this Assessment, the teacher will let you know to what extent the students understand it. This will help the teachers and the acknowledge the parents to know the quality of education of their children.

In the School-Based Assessment (SBA), Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) designed resource packs for Grade 1 to 8. The teachers will teach this resource pack and make monthly assessments. For assessment preparation, students will have to prepare from this summer/resource pack. Also, the training of teachers will become better day by day. Teachers will also be able to understand how to align the students with this new system. With the help of this School-Based Assessment (SBA), you will see a big difference in the children learning. The School Education Department and Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) want to bring quality learning into the education system.
