New York University Graduate School of Arts & Sciences has announced Falak Sufi Scholarships for students of Pakistan. New York University aims to provide support to students from different countries particularly the students belonging to the Islamic countries of South Asia who might not afford a graduate education. Then specific students selected and enrolled in the 2 year Master’s program in Near Eastern Studies. Female students will be preferred.

Who is Falak Sufi:
Falak Sufi was a kind-hearted, generous, broad-minded lady wishing to change the world. That high spirited lady was born in Pakistan in 1983. She did her Graduation from the National University of Singapore with first-class honors in Political Science. The world got influenced by her Talent & Abilities when she published her work at a very young age. She was interested in Women & Gender in South Asia, the historiography of this region & the power of humanities. She wrote, thought, and spoke about countless subjects. She was a beloved, deeply admired Graduate student in Near Eastern Studies at the Kevorkian Center of New York University when she died tragically in New York in 2008.

- The online application for admission is also the application for all Graduate School financial assistance.
- No additional/extra forms required
- The applicant wishing to get considered directly for scholarship needs to add an additional paragraph to the application’s ‘’statement of purpose’’ that clearly explains how the candidate meets the criteria for the scholarship & how that scholarship will help the candidates to carry on the graduate education.
