Pakistan Engineering Council announced great news for the ICS students. According to the decision, we are glad to inform you that ICs students will now be admitted to all engineering universities. PEC officially permits ICS students (with Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science) to seek admission to all engineering programs offered in the country. The only thing which ICs students have to face is to clear Chemistry as a remedial subject in 1st Semester. Candidates combining Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Studies / Computer Science (ICS) can apply for all the Engineering programs.
PEC Announcement
PEC announced this decision in the 46th Vice Chancellors’ Committee (VCC) meeting on February 2, 2023. They make the following amendments mentioned below.
- Must pass the HSC/ HSSC Pre-Engineering Exams with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, securing at least 60% marks in aggregate of a University, a Board of Intermediate or Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education in Pakistan.
- A combination of Biology, Physics, and Chemistry (Pre-Medical) is also allowed for admission in Bio-Medical or Bio-Engineering.”

Universities accepting ICS students for all Engineering programs
As of today, a few universities have implemented the policy. Some of these universities include

- National University of Science & Technology (NUST)
- Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology – GIK Institute – GIKI, Topi
