The announced syllabus contains all components for the NLE test that consists of theory and clinical skills examination. Thus candidates have to clear both parts to get the license. National Licensing Examination (NLE)
National Licensing Examination (NLE) is an exam conducted by the PMC for medical graduates. Those candidates who want to start practice as a general practitioner after gaining an MBBS degree will sit for the NLE. It means that NLE is mandatory for the MBBS degree holder from the PMC approved Pakistani medical colleges.
NLE Syllabus 2021
The NLE exam consists of the following two parts.
- A theory component has 200 MCQs (70% from clinical sciences and 30% from Basic sciences disciplines).
- Clinical Skill Examination (CSE)

The format of CSE in NLE will be the same as, in theory having 20 stations. The duration of NLE SCE will be 3 hours and 30 minutes. However, for the CSE, 03 stations will be mandatory, and candidates must have to pass all mandatory stations. However, below is the distribution of stations for CSE NLE 2021.
