Recently, Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) issued a notification regarding the exemption of NLE for Pakistani Graduates. According to the notification, PDMD started providing permanent registration certificates to the graduated doctors without the NLE from 08 February 2023. So, now, doctors don’t have to appear in the NLE exam for the registration certificate as in the previous PMC Law.
According to the PMC Law, graduated doctors don’t get the certificates until they appear in the NLE and pass it. At that time, many doctors criticized this practice of PMC and held many protests and demonstrations at different levels.

Thus, after officially starting the work, PMDC tried to resolve many matters and launched a registration portal as a priority. So, on the 1st day of the registration portal, PMDC issued 1500 certificates to the graduated doctors. However, PMDC also informed the doctors around 10,000 who are waiting for the certificate to apply online through the registration portal.

NRE (National Registration Examination)
PMDC registrar also talked about the Pakistani candidates who have done their graduation from foreign institutes. So, the foreign graduates will appear in the NRE (National Registration Examination), and it will be mandatory for them to pass the test for registration. NRE will be an objective computer-based MCQS test and a practical component.
