A few days earlier, we got orders from the Lahore High Court to conduct General Elections in Punjab within 90 days. Mr. Arif Alv, the President of Pakistan, also confirmed the General elections schedule. The President announces 9th April 2023 to conduct the General elections in Punjab and KPK.
Concerning these orders, the Services & General Administration Department (S&GAD) bans all kinds of Transfers/ Postings over Punjab. They have informed all other Departments under the Government of Punjab to act upon the decision. The obvious reason for taking this step is to avoid misleading general elections. The Punjab Government will be formed after the general elections, and the newly formed setup will remove the bans.

However, recently S&GAD has received a request from the Punab Education Department to relax the ban on Transfer Postings. For this, Punjab Higher Education Department has written to the authorities. Regarding their request, the Services & General Administration Department has approved the relaxation and wrote back to the Higher Education Department. The Higher Education Department has requested for relaxation of the ban on the following officials:
- Transfer Posting of recently recommended Lecturers by PPSC.
- Transfer Posting of recently promoted officers or officials.
- Transfer Posting of officers/officials joining the Department after availing leave.
