On 3rd January 2021, Primary and Secondary healthCare department invited scholarships in various medical fields. Just like other countries, the Punjab Government also took a great step to help deserving students to acquire high research education. Furthermore, they announced scholarships in M.Phil and Ph.D. Degree programs through the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases Program. In recent years, Non-Communicable Diseases are growing rapidly in the entire globe. It is becoming a major problem all over the world.

Therefore, the Punjab Government offered a degree program in this discipline. However, the prevention and control of NCDs should be based on sound scientific evidence to ensure their effectiveness which requires evidence-based research.

Eligibility Criteria:-

  • Applicants who recently took admission in the post-graduate and doctoral degree programs at HEC Approved universities in medical disciplines eligible to apply for the MPhil and PhD. Scholarships.
  • Also, Having Punjab Domicile 
  • The willing candidates can download detailed criteria and TORs of scholarships from the Primary Secondary Healthcare website http://pshealth.hisdu.com/Home/Download  as well as from NCDs Program’s website https://ncd.punjab.gov.pk/downloads   

Scholarship Benefits:-

Punjab Government offer the below-mentioned stipend to the M.phil and Ph.D. candidates

Course Level Annually stipend awarded
M.phil scholarships Up to Rs.40,000 Annually (only for one Year)
Ph .D. Scholarships Up to Rs. 80,000 Annually (for a maximum of 3 years)

How to Apply:-

Applicant should submit the following documents at the time of application submission

  • Application (on prescribed format available online)
  • Agreement In-Principle (on university letterhead, signed & stamped from the research supervisor /Head of Department) at their respective university available online
  • Cover Letter (up to 500-words). Also, describe the importance of their research
  • Approved Research Proposal with relevant work plan, specified objectives, and methodology
  • All supporting documents
  • Complete applications must be received at NCDs Program Office, 1st Floor, Directorate General Health Services, 24-Cooper Road Lahore.
