Punjab government ordered not to expel students from universities
The governor of Punjab Ch. Muhammad Sarwar took the initiative and announced not to expel the students from universities. He said that universities would not expel those students who didn’t deposit the semester fee.
Last week, university students protested in front of the HEC office and demanded to reduce their semester fees. A few days ago, the Punjab University’s VC announced that the university would not charge full fees but tuition fees.
Now the Punjab government also took the initiative. Muhamad Sarwar said that this pandemic period affects our social and economic life, especially the lives of the poor. He also noted that many students couldn’t pay the semester fee because of the financial crisis.
Ch. Muhammad Sarwar advised the VCs not to expel the students at once but to give them a free hand. To resolve the issue, he orders the universities to receive semester fees in installments.
