CM Punjab Usman Buzdar approved the proposal of changing the syllabus of primary level into Urdu medium. The teachers will teach English as a subject, and the books will be in Urdu.

CM Punjab Usman Buzdar chaired the 22nd meeting held at Civil Secretariat, and the CM Punjab took several important decisions in this meeting. The decision of converting the syllabus into English medium up to the primary level was taken in this meeting.

A number of reforms were made in the meeting including:

  • Assessment Policy Framework 2019
  • Punjab Forests Policy 2019
  • The Parole Act 2019
  • The draft of Punjab Wildlife Protected Areas Act 2019
  • Punjab Educational Professionals Standards Council Bill 2018

Mr Usman Buzdar also decided to terminate the Board exams of 5th and 8th class in the same meeting. The implementation of all the reforms is ensured to start from the academic year 2020.

The decision didn’t get enough appreciation. However, some people liked the decision as it will help the students from backward areas. It is also helpful for students whose parents are not literate.
