The Federal Government recently announced the raise in Profit rates of the National Savings Schemes (NSS) w.e.f of 10 May 2022. The raised Profit rates are for various National Saving Certificates and schemes up to 250 basis points. Thus, below is the detailed profits rates for the National Saving Certificates and Accounts.
Profits Rates on National Savings Certificates
- The CDNS (Central Directorate of National Saving) raise the Special Saving Certificates (SSC) profit rates by 140 basis points t0 12.40%.
- At the same time, the profit rate for the Regular Income Certificate (RIC) has increased by 96 basis points to 12%.
- The profit rates on the Bahbood Saving Certificates (BSC) increased by 144 basis points to 14.16%.
- For the Short-Term Saving Certificates (STSC), the profit rate raises from 10.40 to 13.73%.
- At the same time, the profit rate raised significantly to 222% for the Defense Saving Certificates (DSC).
Profit Rates on National Savings Accounts
- The Saving Accounts (SA) profit rates increased by 250 basis points to 10.75%.
- Shaunda Welfare Family Accounts (SWFA) candidates will get a profit rate of 14.16 % (12.72% Before).
- Pensioners Benefit Accounts (PBA) holders will now get the benefits with a profit rate of 14.6%.
However, there is news that the increased profit rates of the NSS are only for the new accounts opened on or after 10 May 2022. Thus, the existing accounts wil not get the benefits of these revised rates. However, the authorities requested the Federal government to apply the revised rates for the existing accounts.
