According to the latest news, the new government decided to shelve the Punjab Rozgar Scheme. As this scheme introduced by the PTI government o disburse loans among the youth of the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday. In the previous year, the PTI government distribute loans amounting to Rs30 billion among the unemployed youth of Punjab. But it could disburse loans to the tune of Rs 600 million only among them. However, the 100,000 unemployed youth had taken loans under the ‘Punjab Rozgar’ scheme during the previous government.

The purpose of offering the Punjab Rozgaar Scheme is to help poor or needy people in order to start their businesses. The youth will take loans from the government to start their business in order to feed their families.
However, the scheme restricted to the current fiscal year for the third-party evaluation, the secretary said adding that work on launching better schemes for the provision of loans was underway.
