According to the news, the Punjab Government decided to close the schools from the 2nd week of December 2020. The government stated that the smog and COVID-19 cases are increasing. So, the winter vacations in all schools in the province will start in December.
On the other hand, the federal government suggested closing the schools in November instead of December. The government will make the final decision soon.
Like today, on 05 November 2020, Inter-provincial education ministers conference has to be held. So, now hopefully, the education ministers of all provinces will finalize the schedule.
However, a few days ago, Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas tweeted on the current condition. Murad Raas said that there is no need to worry as nothing is alarming. He said that the government observes the situation continuously with proper measurements.
