The Higher Education Commission noticed that the universities and affiliate colleges violated the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) admission criteria.HEC decided to take strict action against such institutes. According to the details, the HEC stated that many universities and affiliated colleges across the country had granted applicants to DPT programs against the prescribed admission criteria.
The HEC issued the admission criteria of the DPT program in which they clearly mentioned that applicants who secure 60% marks in the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) exams (Pre-Medical/Health Sciences/Applied Sciences/ Basic Medical Sciences or equivalent) are eligible to apply for admission. However, those who obtain marks below 60% are not eligible. Deputy Director of Curriculum HEC, Hidayatullah Kasi, said that HEC had amended the admission criteria for the DPT program in June this year. Furthermore, the Higher Education Commission also warned students not to offer undergraduate degree programs involving clinical applications without permission. Now, all colleges and universities must grant admission to DPT programs.
