PMC increased the seats to the Tribal areas
Recently, during a meeting of PMC with Health ministries of all provinces, PMC approved to incense the Seats for FATA students. Before this, the PMC didn’t agree to grant the extra Medical and dental colleges seats to the tribal students. But now, the PMC has asked the representatives to check the status of colleges that have capacities for more students.
However, this resource stated that there are some colleges who request the KMU to increase the seats. The name of those colleges are:
- Bacha Medical College
- Bacha Khan Dental College
- Khyber Girls Medical College
- Swat Dental college
Now, the representative of these colleges will attend a meeting soon. There they will provide updates about the available seats and capacity to enhance seats for FATA students. Thus, the final decision will be of the PMC after inspection and review of the situation.
Other than that, the KMU admission director stated that the Federal government gave the suggestion to increase the seats for FATA Students in 2017. However, the PMC and government approved it now. Last year, the commission allowed the colleges to increase the seats (272 seats), that is the double of the allocated quota of 136 seats. Similarly, other provinces also enrolled around 78 students rather than 38 in medical and dental colleges.
PMC Final Decision
Now, resources said that the KPK government will requisition the PMC to visit the colleges and do their inspection. After that, they will be able to increase the seats for tribal areas students. They also stated that PMC agreed only due to the consistent pressure of parliamentarians of ex-FATA. However, the final decision will be after the complete inspection.
