Due to an extension in the examination date, the Federal Education Minister and Professional Training Shafqat Mehmood announced to start a new academic session in August 2021. In the recent press conference, they issued a notification regarding the conduction of exams. However, they decided to conduct annual board exams in May/June. The reason for conducting exams in May and June is due to prolonged school closures.

Therefore, Shafqat Mehmood announces to begin Single National Curriculum from August 2021. In consultation with provincial/area governments and all other stakeholders, the Ministry of Federal Education has developed Single National Curriculum (SNC) from pre-1 to grade 5, followed by all public and private schools across the country from the next academic year.

Earlier, they conducted a meeting in this regard. However, they came to the final result. The ministry sent a letter to all provincial and area governments regarding the Textbook Policy under the unified curriculum.

Apart from all these, they also notify publishers to develop textbooks used by students under the new curriculum on the condition that the books are “aligned with the [student learning outcomes] prescribed by SNC.” Hence, the private publishers start making textbooks in line with the objectives and contents of SNC”.
