The PM Imran Khan started the new initiative of Ehsaas Undergraduate scholarship program. Therefore, thousands of students applied for this scholarship. Just like all other universities, Karakoram International University also offers scholarships to their undergraduate students. Under Ehsaas Scholarship Program, around 1,260 undergraduate students of different disciplines of the Karakoram International University (KIU) awarded this scholarship. On Friday, the Vice Chancellor of KIU Attaullah Shah addressed in the press conference that only 200 students will get the scholarships.

In this decision, the university requested the GB government and President Arif Alvi, who is also the chancellor of the KIU, that poor people of the region were unable to pay fees of their children due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, we urge you to increase the limit of scholarship. Hence, now approximately 2400 students awarded with this scholarship in Karakoram International University. Last year, KIU awarded 911 scholarships to the students. Other than that, Rs 35 million will distributed among various disciplines to help meet the students this year.
