The Oxford University Press (OUP) recently published the Picture of Malala Yousafzai in the Grade 7 Social Studies books. Upon this, the Punjab Textbook Board confiscated the book. At the same time, the book also received a lot of criticism on the Malala Picture.
The press printed the picture of Malala Yuousafzai on Page No. 33, along with all the important personalities of Pakistan. Such as Quaid-e-Azam, Allama Iqbal, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, Liaquat Ali Khan, Abdul Sattar Edhi, Begum Raana Liaquat Ali Khan and Major Aziz Bhatti. Thus after this, there was a noise on social media against the book. Upon this, the government took action and seized all Oxford books stock after conducted a raid by the police and PCTB.
However, PCTB also takes immediate action against unauthorized and illegal books. However, the board also banned around 100 books last year due to illegal content.
