On 26th February 2021, the Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC) conference took place. In the meeting, Murad Raas decided to start the new academic session in schools from August 01, 2021. Moreover, Murad Raas issued a notification to the School Education Department and also officially announced it on Twitter. He stated;
“Schools of Punjab to Start the School Year on August 1st, 2021 till March 31st, 2022.”
A few days ago, Murad Raas also uploaded the list of districts that will follow the alternate-school-day rule until April 1. However, the district that didn’t add in the schedule should follow COVID-19 Schedule. Apart from this, they also mention that districts having a higher rate of COVID-19 positivity ratio like more than 20 cases in the last 24 hours will be subject to the rule. Some of the districts which have high positive rates are Lahore, Gujrat, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Sialkot, Rawalpindi and Faisalabad.
