What is a Benevolent fund?
Punjab Government started the Benevolent Fund to assist the Punjab Govt employees. The Benevolent Fund aimed to Serve Humanity and was established in 1960. The Benevolent Fund Board supports the employees and window/children of deceased govt employees in various ways. The board provides them with different grants under various initiatives.
For this fund, the govt deducts the salary of the government employees monthly. Currently, the contribution rate of basic salary is 3%.

Punjab Benevolent Fund Scholarship
To assist the Government employees’ children, the Punjab govt started to provide an educational grant under the Punjab Benevolent Fund. The government started to provide grants for all gazetted and Non-Gazetted govt employees under the provision of 1965 and 1966 rules. Thus, the Punjab Govt announced the scholarship every year.

Eligibility Criteria for the Punjab Benevolent Fund Scholarship
For the Punjab Benevolent Fund Scholarship, the children of the following categories govt employees are eligible.
- All gazetted government employees (BPS-16 and above)
- All Non-Gazetted Employees (BPS-01 to BPS-15)
- Non-Gazetted Secretariate Employees
Eligible Degrees for the Punjab Benevolent Fund Scholarship
The children of the government e employees studies in the following degrees are eligible for the Benevolent Fund Scholarship. However, the scholarship is for all serving, retired, and deceased employees’ children.
- Primary and Secondary
- Matric
- Intermediate
- Bachelors
- Masters/M/Phil/MS
- MBBS/BDS
- PhD
Punjab Benevolent Fund Scholarship Amount
The amount for the scholarship is different for gazetted and non-gazetted employees and varies from degree to degree. Below are the details.
- Gazetted employees
- For Primary to Matric level: Rs 10,000/-
- FA/BS or Equivalent degrees: Rs 28,000/-
- For MA/MBBS/BDS/DVM/BSc(Hons), Agri/Pharm-D/M.Phil/Ph.D: Rs 32,000/-
- Non-Gazetted employees
- For Primary to Matric level: Rs 1500/-
- FA/BS or Equivalent degrees: Rs 6,000/-
- For MA/MBBS/BDS/DVM/BSc(Hons), Agri/Pharm-D/M.Phil/Ph.D: Rs 8,000/-
At the same time, the government also provide special scholarship under the benevolent fund to the High marks achievers. Thus, students securing 90% or more marks receive Rs 50,000/- instead of normal scholarship amount rates.
How to Apply for the Benevolent Fund Scholarship

- Fill the application form accurately, attach all documents mentioned in the form, and submit the form to the office.
