SNC for Grade 6-8
On Friday, experts approved the single National Curriculum (SNC) for grade 6th to 8th. Thus, from next year SNC for 6-8 classes will be implemented. There was a five-day ceremony on SNC at Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad. At the end of this ceremony, the expert announced the approval of SNC.
Thus, on this occasion, Shafqat Mahmood congratulated all the stakeholders, the National Curriculum Council, and the Educational sectors of all provinces. However, he stated that there are eight subjects for grade 6-8 approved for the SNC. This step will move towards National unity.
The Federal Education Minister said that SNC would help to eradicate the class system. Thus, all the citizens will be able to get equal chances to move forward.
Statement of National Curriculum Council Chairman
Other than that, the chairman of the Single Curriculum Council, Muhammad Rafiq Tahir, also talked about the topic. He said that the dream of the National curriculum had become a reality. Now, we can implement the idea, ONE NATION-ONE Curriculum. However, he stated that before this, during the 1st phase, SNC for grade 1-5 has approved. Now, exports also approved the curriculum for 6-8 Grade. Around 175 experts took part in the 05-day conference on the Single National Curriculum.
Now, the government will start the process of publishing the books according to SNC. Thus, for the session 22-23, the government will introduce the SNC for 6-8 classes across the country.
