This (ECat) test is necessary to take admission in any good and reputable engineering institute of Pakistan. Without this test, you will not be able to get admission in any institute. This test is a kind of tool to measure the competency of inter-student who wish to become a future engineer of the country.

Syllabus:

there are two types of groups in the prerequisite test of engineering colleges and universities. There is a difference of a subject for both pre-engineering and intermediate in computer science students. ECat Test included multiple-choice questions (MCQs) based on Physics, English, Mathematics, Computer Science or Chemistry.

Eligibility Criteria:

The student who scored 60% marks in matriculation and in intermediate are eligible to take part in engineering college test.

Which bodies conduct engineering college test?

Punjab:

In Punjab province, this test is organized by the University of Engineering and Technology, aka UET, every year.

KPK:

Education Testing and Evaluation Agency (ETEA) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is responsible to conduct a pre-admission test for future engineers.

Sindh:

After the regulation in Sindh, National Testing Service (NTS) organizes ECAT in the province. Those who are willing to enroll in engineering universities must have to appear in this exam.

Balochistan:

HEC ETC conducts a pre-admission test for engineering universities in Balochistan.

PIEAS:

Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences, also known as PIEAS, conducts its own admission test for prospective students.

NUST:

Those students who want to seek admission in National University of Science and Technology, NUST, will have to appear in a NET test conducted by the university.

FAST:

Just as PIEAS and NUST, this institute also organizes its own pre-admission test.

Merit Calculation:

The admission in engineering programs depends upon the marks obtained in the pre-admission test, SSC and HSSC.
