Due to the rapid increase in COVID-19 cases, School Education Minister, Shafqat Mehmood issued a notification to shut down schools for two weeks. According to the details, the holidays shall start on Monday (15-03-2021) and end on 28th March 2021. All educational institutes of Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Rawalpindi, Multan, Sialkot have closed. Not only schools but this decision is also taken for colleges and universities says Shafqat Mehmood in a press conference. However, this is also applicable to Federal schools (Islamabad).
Addressing in a press conference, Special Assistant Dr Faisal Sultan said that the rate of COVID-19 positive cases increasing vigorously. Therefore, administrative agencies should impose smart lockdown. They give suggestions to close the restaurant, entertainment parks and offer outdoor dining at 6:00 PM.Dr. Murad Raas recently tweeted in which he said;
“Spring Break in all Public & Private Schools of Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Rawalpindi, Multan, Sialkot will be from March 15th, 2021 to March 28th, 2021. All Public & Private schools in the rest of the Districts will follow the regular schedule.”
