The Federal Board (FBISE) issued a notification regarding introducing the Computer-Based Examination System (CBES) at HSSC 2023 level. After many computer-based initiatives such as Question Item Bank (QIB), Digital Attendance Monitoring System (DAMS), online marking, etc., the board decided to conduct the Computer-based exams. As a pilot project, FBISE conducted the computer-based HSSC Computer Science 1st and 2nd Annual Exam 2022 at four International examination centers.

Now, after the success of the CBES at the international level, the board decided to conduct all HSSC annual exams 2023 online through the CBES. However, the board has mentioned the following arrangements for the CBES at institutes.
- Availability of Computer Systems as per the strength of candidates
- Availability of internet during exams
- Configuration with the local server, Cloud Server through Public and Private IP
- Availability of uninterrupted power supply during the examination
- Students must have basic computer knowledge
