FDE Instructed to Overcome the Academic Losses
Recently, the Federal Directorate of Education instructed the educational institutes of ICT to support students. As due to the COVID-19, students faced a lot of academic losses thus, to compensate these losses, institutes facilitated students.
In this regard, FDE gave suggestions to the ICT institutes to make two stages approaches, a short term approach and a long term approach. In the short term approach, institute support and encourage students to appear in the annual exams 2021. However, in the long term approach, male such programs will overcome the academic losses within the next 2-3 years. According to the news, FDE took this initiative under the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training.
Short and Long Term Approaches
Other than that, FDE also provided some details and stated that to compensate the academic loss in a short term approach, conduct zero/extra class in the morning. Other than that, schools can reschedule the classes on Sundays so that students will be able to learn properly.
While for the long term approach, FDE suggested to utilize the summer vacation of next two-three years and teach the students that are necessary to learn at the school level. However, to check the students’ understanding, the ICT institutes will conduct diagnostic assessment at the start of the academic session. Through this assessment, institutes and teachers will be able to make their processes and plans according to students’ needs.
