Reduce HEC Chairman Tenure
Recently, the government has decided to reduce the HEC Chairman tenure, and stakeholders appreciated this step of the government. On Wednesday, the government stated this procedure and stated that the HEC Chairman’s tenure would be of two years instead of four years.
Reasons for the decision
However, the reason for this decision is that the working relationship of the HEC Chairman with the federal education ministry, vice-chancellors, faculty members, and employees was not friendly. Other than that, Mr. Bruni also hired various consultants on the massive salary on which NAB takes action on it. Now, NAB is investigating him. Thus, the government decided to remove him from the HEC chairman’s post due to all these reasons.
However, on this topic, the VCs Committee Chairman also stated that Vice-Chancellors are the major stakeholders. But since a few previous years, HEC didn’t consult them while making policies.
At the same time, HEC employees also appreciate the government initiative, and they stated that we support the government in the procedure to remove the HEC chairman.
FAPUASA Statements
On this topic, FAPUASA also commented that all the faculty members are pleased with the government’s decision. However, they also said that the government should terminate the whole team of the HEC chairman.
