HEC recently issued a notification regarding Holi and other cultural activities. On 20th June 2023, Dr. Shaista Sohail announced banning the festival of colors “Holi celebration” festival, in all universities. They strictly advised all not to celebrate the holiday throughout the country. They decided after viewing the viral video of the Holi celebration in QAU, Islamabad. The QAU students use synthetic colors, water balloons, and other forms of revelry, which lead to injuries, allergic reactions, and environmental pollution. For this purpose, they also issued a press release banning the Holi celebration. They ban to maintain the educational environment. Thus, they expressed their concern and issued notice.
Holi is the festival of Hinduism. The Muslim community is not allowed to celebrate this. But the students forgot their Islamic values and started celebrating them in universities.
