HEC announced a Commonwealth scholarship 2021 for PhD scholars of developing countries. It is a fully-funded scholarship, and candidates having Pakistan and AJK nationality is eligible. Thus, under a Commonwealth scholarship, the candidates will be able to study in UK universities. The UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office funds this scholarship. However, selected candidates will also receive a stipend and other benefits. The last date to apply for the commonwealth scholarship is 18 January 2021.
HEC Commonwealth Scholarship 2021 Offered Programs
The commonwealth PhD Scholarship is for the following six programs/themes.
- Science and technology for development
- Strengthening the Health System and capacity
- Promoting global prosperity
- Strengthening global peace, security and governance
- Strengthening resilience and response to crises
- Access, inclusion, and opportunity
Eligibility Criteria for Commonwealth scholarship:
- Applicants must be a citizen & permanent resident of eligible commonwealth countries.
- Candidates must be available in the UK at the start of the academic session in Sep/Oct 2021.
- Applicants must not be registered for the PhD and M.Phill in any UK university before Sep/Oct 2021.
- You have not registered in PhD or M.phill leading PhD Program in your home country.
- You cannot afford to study in the UK without a scholarship.

How to Apply for HEC Commonwealth Scholarship 2021
- Candidates have to apply for the UK universities that are a part of the funding (check here).
- Applicants have to apply to both websites, HEC and Commonwealth.

- Also, apply through the HEC website. After registration, select the option, learning opportunities abroad. This option comes under the scholarship and Grant menu.
Last date to apply
The last date to apply on both websites for the Commonwealth scholarship is 18 January 2021. On the commonwealth website, your application must support with all required documents until 01 February 2021.
