On Wednesday, HEC issued a notification regarding the conduction of online classes. All educational institutes of Punjab will close from 15th March to 28 March (spring break) due to the rapid increase in COVID-19. Therefore, HEC ordered the universities to conduct online classes for two weeks. However, the online classes conducted in the selected cities including Faisalabad, Lahore, Multan, Sialkot, Peshawar, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad. Other than that, HEC advises universities that will remain open to strictly observe COVID-19 protocols.

Apart from this, the Higher Education Commission also clarified that all universities shall continue to operate as per guidelines issued earlier except for the universities mentioned above. However, the universities of the selected universities remain close for physical attendance from March 15 to March 28, 2021. Hence, HEC stresses to continue academic activities in all universities of selected cities.
