The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has revised the Teacher Education Roadmap for the discipline of Education. HEC announced the revised roadmap with the recommendation of the National Curriculum Review Committee. So, the decisions taken for the revised roadmap for the Education discipline are below.

Revised RoadMap for Education Discipline
- Candidates with the Associate Degree in Education (ADE) can enroll in the 5th semester or 3rd year of the B.Ed Program (04 years).
- Candidates with other AD Education Degrees or 02 years of BA/BSc degrees can enroll in the 5th semester or 3rd year of the B.Ed Program (04 years) through a bridging semester after completing the deficiency courses (15-18 Credit Hours)
- MA Education, M.ED, and BS Education will be equivalent to the B.Ed 04 Years/B. Ed Hons, B.Ed 2.5 Years after 14 years qualification, and B.Ed 1.5 Years after 16 years qualification.
- Applicants having 16 years of degree in other disciplines except Education are eligible for the B. Ed 1.5 years comprising the 45-55 Credit hours course work.
- Candidates with 16 years of degree in other disciplines except Education want admission to MS/M. Phil Education has to complete the 18 credit hours deficiency courses as part of the said degree program.
- The Teacher Education degree nomenclature will only be Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from Fall 2023 onwards.
- The strands, such as Elementary & Secondary Education, Early Childhood Education, etc., and specializations like Curriculum, Assessment, Academic planning, Leadership, Guidance & Counseling, etc., shall only be mentioned on transcripts and not on degrees.
HEC stated that the revised roadmap for the education discipline is for all Public and private sector universities and degree-awarding institutes. An official letter has been sent to them.
