HEC Tries to Facilitate the Disabled Students
According to news, the Higher Education Commission tries its best to provide all possible facilities to the differently-disabled students. For these, HEC decided to take different measurements to make this try successful and viable. However, in the last month, President Arif Alvi also instructed HEC to take extraordinary measures.
So, the government and HEC is considering to facilitate the students by the following methods/ways:
- By giving them age relaxation
- Constructing wheelchair friendly buildings
- Scholarships and fee waivers
- Special transport facility in the campus

HEC stated that the government had passed the ICT Rights of Persons with Disability Act 2020. Now, under this act, HEC will review its existing policy for these differently disabled students. Other than that, the commission also tries to facilitate these students in the Higher Education Sector.

Thus, HEC provides special attention to the disabled students and asks the VCs to implement these policies. It is an encouraging initiate of the government and HEC. Hopefully, the head of all institutes also corporate to make this step successful.
