On 24th April 2021, the Higher Education Department issued a notification regarding the closure of educational institutions in Punjab. According to the details, the government of Punjab conducted a meeting with the National Coordination Committee(NCC). As COVID-19 rapidly increased all over Punjab, therefore they took a decision to shut down educational institutes in the Punjab province. For that purpose, the government of Punjab government issued a policy to all the concerned for strict compliance.
- All Public and Private Colleges in highly positively districts (i.e. beyond 5%)
- The immediate classes which the department earlier allowed in the high positive districts on a staggered basis, they allow to suspended with immediate effect till further orders.
- Universities may continue academic activities as per notification issued by HEC Islamabad.

This announced notification valid for Punjab districts including Rahim Yar Khan, DG Khan, Bahawalpur, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Khushab, Lodhran, Mandi Bahuddin, Pak Pattan, Sahiwal, Sialkot, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Multan, Okara, Jhang, Khanewal, Kasur, Bahawalnagar, Chakwal & Bhakkar is hereby closed with immediate effect until further orders.
