What is John Allwright Fellowship
Australia awards John Allwright Fellowship, a scholarship by the Australian Center for International Agriculture Research( ACIAR), and also co-funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
This fellowship aims to elevate the research capacity in the partner country institutions of ACIAR. The study and research by the Australia Awards Scholarships help the individual develop the skills and knowledge which will assist them in the development outcomes of their own countries.
John Allwright Fellowship Eligibility criteria
To apply for the John Allwright Fellowships, aspirants must fulfill the following criteria
- For the fellowship, applicants must be working for the ACIAR projects in a current partner developing country
- Applicants must be the citizens of that country in which they are working
- Applicants must have a qualification equivalent to the Australian bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline to the proposed postgraduate study area
- Applicant must be a scientist or economist, actively involved in the collaborative research project by ACIAR
In the fellowship scheme, ACIAR tries to meet the Australian government policy for gender equity and reflect training policies and strategies of ACIAR.

Last date to apply
This fellowship opens its application once in a year, and candidates have to submit their application by 30 April.
But this year, due to the COVID-19, for the 2021 intake for Australia Award scholarship has been rescheduled, and the closing date of application has been extended between 30 April 2020 to 30 June 2020.
