Just like Punjab province, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government also shut down educational institutes from 18th March 2021 till 28th March 2021 in different cities of KPK. As the number of COVID-19 cases is rapidly increasing, therefore the government took a decision to close institutes. Apart from this, the Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahram Tarakai said to monitor the COVID-19 situation. However, they also ordered school authorities to follow the SOPs to save their life from COVID-19.
The KPK government allowed school staff members to visit the schools. The entrance of students not allowed during vacations. Moreover, the parents should collect the homework from the teachers. According to the details, the schools closed in various cities including Charsadda, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Kohat, Malakand, Swat, and Dir Lower.
In a recent NCOC meeting, they announced to shut down schools in Punjab and Peshawar from 15th March 2021 to 28th March 2021 due to the high positivity rate in the cases of coronavirus.
