Like all other provinces, the Punjab School Education Department also announced the winter holidays all over Punjab. The smog situation in Lahore is worse than in other cities. Therefore, the Lahore High Court asked the Punjab Education Department to extend the winter holidays in Lahore. Per the schedule, the holidays will start on 24th December 2022 and continue till 31st December 2022. However, the classes will go to start on 2nd January 2023. But the Lahore High Court, after examining the worse situation of smog, ordered to increase in the winter vacations in all public and private educational institutes in Lahore.

It is important to mention that schools in other cities in Punjab will reopen according to the schedule. However, the School Education Department still needs to respond to the advice of the Lahore High Court. We will share the final decision soon after receiving approval from SED Punjab.
