On Tuesday, the Ministry and Managing Director of Punjab Textbook issued the revised policy of the Single National Curriculum. According to the details, the Ministry advised that from August 2021, the Single National Curriculum books taught from primary to grade 5. In this regard, 30 model books issued, which only followed grade 5. Moreover, the printing process started and almost 13 Crore books are going to print. The books given to the students before the commencement of SNG. Now the demand of schools to make changes in syllabus, lesson plans, and past papers will be useless.
Further, the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional training issued this SNG policy notification in all provincial and government areas. According to the policy, the private publishers can develop these books, as long as they in line with the student learning objectives set by the Government. For this purpose, the private publishers should require NOC which is issued by the provincial textbook board. The board should also be answerable if add any controversial subjects.
The purpose of issuing these Single National Curriculum books is to maintain uniformity in the entire education system. Ministers also plan to release textbooks from Grade 6 to 8 as well.
