Majority of people received fake Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs). To stop illegal issuance of Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs), NADRA now launches new verification for the renewal of National ID cards. The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) took this decision when thousands of people received fake identity cards. While speaking in a press conference, FIA Sindh Director Amir Farooqi said that some of the members of NADRA has linked with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) , Al-Qaeda in Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) and proscribed outfits of Baloch sub-nationalist groups to get CNICs in return for monetary and other gains.
According to the new system , NADRA verifies or identifies the registration of any irrelevant person in the family tree. The purpose of launching this system is to check foreigner who live in Pakistan illegally. Therefore, new technology developed by NADRA to check and identify fake people through Artificial intelligence.
Through this new system, Pakistani citizens can get details and verification of family members while sending SMS from their registered mobile phones to 8009.
