PMC MDCAT 2020
Pakistan Medical Council (PMC) announced the MDCAT 2020 would not contain any out of course question. All questions will be from the suggested PMC MDCAT Syllabus. According to the schedule, the last date of registration for the MDCAT 2020 and test will be on 15 November 2020.
Vice President of PMC Statements
The Vice President of PMC, Ali Raza, gave some statements regarding MDCAT 2020 to remove the confusion of students. He stated that every province has a different syllabus according to the boards, but the MDCAT syllabus contained only common topics. In case of any out of course MCQ, it will be deleted or replaced.
He further said that this year NUMS Islamabad would manage the MDCAT. After the test, all sealed copies of papers will be handed over to the NUMS for marking. Regarding private colleges, he stated that PMC had finalized the automated admission process. While for public college admissions, the provincial government will complete the admission process.
About National MDCAT 2020, the Vice president said that all aspirants must have a common or uniform MDCAT. There will be no specific quota for international students. However, the provincial and federal governments can establish a quote for appropriate seats in public colleges.
International Students
For international students, he said that only those students who have SAT-II results could apply for the medical and dental colleges. In SAT-II, they must have the following weightage in the subjects:
- Biology: 40pc
- Chemistry: 35pc
- maths/physics: 25pc
Vice president Ali Raza also talked about Foreign Medical Graduates (FMG). He said that the FMG process is under verification. If any students have a qualification from the Commission recognized foreign college, then they will receive a provincial license. Through this license, they will be able to do house jobs in Pakistan. However, they will get the full license passing the National Licensing Examination (NLE).
