The Pakistan Medical Commission recently announced the special policy for admissions 2021-22 on vacant seats. The Commission conducted a meeting on 15 February 2022 and discussed the admission criteria for vacant seats after the closure of actual admission dates. Thus, after discussion, PMC approved the special policy for admission according to the following principles.
- All private and public colleges will follow the schedule issued by the PMC strictly and submit the list of admitted students on time.
- Those colleges who failed to upload the list by the deadline will upload it by 18 February 2022. However, they have to submit a fine of Rs 10,000 per student.
- The public and private colleges who failed to submit the admitting list till the last date will be fined.
- Suppose a student secures admission in more tha one college, including provisional payment of the initial fee, and confirms admission with one college before 30 January 2022. In that case, other colleges will remove that student from the list.
- If students get admission to private college and after that in public college on quota seats by 10 February 2022, and duly uploaded by the public college till 11 February 2022, then the private college seat shall fall vacant.
- Each private college will submit the list of delayed results separately. At the same time, public colleges will submit a separate list of open merit, quota seats, and delayed results.
PMC Rules for Admisison on Vacant Seats
After assessing the colleges’ admissions list and considering the students’ complaints, the admissions on the vacant seats will be according to the following rules.
- Those students who will fulfill the entry criteria and are not in the admitted lists of the colleges are eligible for admission on the vacant seats.
- The portal will contain the list of all colleges and the number of vacant seats in each college. Any college that offers the scholarship to the students on vacant seats will notify it on the portal.
- The merit for the admission of vacant seats will be according to the following.
- 50% MDCAT + 50% HSSC (for public Colleges)
- 100% MDCAT (for Private College)
- According to their priorities, students can apply for admission on the PMC portal in five medical/dental colleges.
- The students with the higher merit in each college shall be admitted to that college. If a student gets admitted to more than one college, he will get admission to a higher rank college.
- The admission on the vacant public seats will be carried out first and then on the private colleges.
