PMDC has issued the admission regulation 2020 for the MBBS and MDS in public and private medical colleges. According to the rule, PMDC will provide 400 seats in private and public medical colleges for MBBS. In the notification, seats of the army medical and dental colleges are also mentioned.

Annual admissions/seats for MBBS and BDS
- PMDC announced 350 seats in MBBS for the public medical institutes while 50 seats for the private institutes.
- For BDS, PMDC approved 100 seats in public dental colleges. While for the private sectors, the following distributions of seats decided.
- 80 admissions in stand-alone private sector dental colleges
- 75 seats in dental institutes attach with medical institutions
- The federal government will announce the defined seats for the military medical and dental colleges.
- The military cadets will admit in the military medical and dental colleges controlled by the armed forces and attached to the Military teaching Hospitals.
Eligibility criteria 2020
- Candidates must have passed the FSc pre-medical with at least 65% marks or 65% marks in aggregate in case of foreign education in three subjects (Biology, Chemistry, Physics/maths)
- Any overseas Pakistan or dual nationality holder who wants to take admission on open merit/foreign quota must have passed in a foreign degree with 65% marks in aggregate.
- Pakistani candidates holding O/A-level degrees are not eligible for the foreign quota.
- The foreigner candidates must meet the following criteria.
- They must have an English proficiency test. IELTS or TOFEL with min.500 or 5.5 score OR has a NUML certificate of English Language Course.
- If candidates have min, five hundred fifty marks in foreign SAT-II in every three subjects (Chemistry, Biology, Physics/Maths), they can also apply for the admissions.
Pattern and Syllabus
- The admission test (MDCAT) will consist of MCQs from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and English.
- MDCAT is valid for one year in public and private medical colleges. However, SAT or Foreign MCAT is applicable for two years.

Aggregate Formula 2020
All medical and dental universities will follow the following weightage of marks for the admissions
- 10% marks of matric
- 40% of FSc
- 50% of MDCAT
