Presidential Initiative for Artificial Intelligence and Computing Courses, Registration & Entry Test

A few weeks earlier, President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi introduced the Presidential Initiative for Artificial Intelligence and Computing (PIAIC).

Following the information,

PIAIC is an interdisciplinary center of research and business in Artificial Intelligence and mass education further including data science, web computing, cloud computing, blockchain and the Internet of Things (IoT) with their associated areas.

The initiative comes with an effort to lead Pakistan towards the Fourth Industrial Revolution to transform the fields of education, research, and business in Pakistan.

This initiative is not the only instrument of technological education, but also a chance of ending unemployment in Pakistan as the demand for such software abilities has risen dramatically over the years.

PIAIC Courses:

This one year program includes 4 IR technologies:

• Artificial Intelligence (AI)
• Cloud-Native Computing
• Blockchain
• Internet of Things (IoT)

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a four-quarter one-year program intended for complete beginners. The AI program is split into four quarters, i.e., AI Foundations, Introduction to Data Science and Deep Learning, Deploying AI Solutions and AI in practice.

Cloud-Native Computing is also divided into four quarters, namely Cloud Native Computing Foundations, Developing Cloud-Native Microservices, Kubernetes in practice and AWS Application Development.

Blockchain, which is the third program includes Foundations of blockchain, Smart Contract Development, Dapp Development, and Advanced Blockchain topics.

Internet of Things (IoT) being the fourth course of this program is divided into six quarters which includes Introduction to IoT concepts and Rust Programming, Embedded Rust and Real-time Systems Programming, Micro Services development using Web Assembly, Node.js, Docker and KubeEdge technologies, AI for IoT and Blockchain and IOTA technologies for IoT.

PIAIC Registration:

The registration of this course has been done in Karachi and Islamabad while it is still open in Faisalabad. Currently, this program is provided in these big cities of Pakistan, but this project may spread to other cities in the near future too. The main advantage of this program is that it offers online learning too so that the female students can also be benefitted. So this step can be considered for women empowerment in Pakistan. However, you have to take the test on-site.

PIAIC Entry Test:

After applying in this course, the students need to secure 70% marks in the entry test examination. The test includes MCQs, mainly including Mathematics and English. Then the merit list will decide the confirmation of your entry in this program.

The entry test date in Islamabad and Faisalabad is not announced yet.

Commencement of Classes:

The classes of related courses have been started in Karachi while it is still not launched in Islamabad and Faisalabad.
