On 21st May, 2021 Punjab Higher Education issued a notification regarding closing of colleges in Punjab in various districts. In a recent meeting, the National Command Operation Center finalized to only reopen schools in cities where COVID-19 positivity rate is 5%. But in some of the cities, the COVID-19% is higher. In this regard, Punjab Higher Education Department ordered that all Public and Private colleges in Punjab in the following districts shall remain closed till further orders. Earlier, Punjab Government School Education Department has also issued the Notification regarding reopening of Schools in Certain Districts. As per details, the schools will open from 24th May 2021. The students will attend the schools in a staggered manner only two days a week. They will have to attend the schools only twice. The names of districts are given below.

Not only this, colleges in the remaining areas follow staggered attendance schedules. All the authorities shall ensure the observance and compliance of Covid-19 SOPs in letter and spirit. It is also pertinent to mention that the status of opening and closure of Colleges may change weekly on the basis of “7 days rolling average” of positivity rate issued by Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department.
