The Punjab School Education Department issued a notification regarding submitting education certificates. As per details, it is to inform all that Punjab School Education Department will kick off the elementary school teachers (BS-14) and senior elementary school teachers (BS-15) from schools. They fire thousands of teachers as they fail to submit the education certificate, which needs proof of the required qualification for the job. Approximately they fire 2500 teachers from schools for not furnishing their B.Ed degrees.

The School Education Department hired these teachers in 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2017 on a contract-based. SED give time to all private and government schools to submit their B.Ed degree certificate before the deadline. Only a few of them successfully submitted their certificates, while the rest of the others failed to submit. Therefore, the Punjab government kicked off such teachers from their jobs.
