PWBB’s COMSATS Labour Quota Scholarship Program 2021

Punjab Workers Welfare Board (PWWB) brings a fully-funded scholarship program for the labourers or miners and their children. This scholarship is for single degree programs at COMSATS Lahore & Islamabad Campus. A 30% quota in all the single degree programs gets reserved for the workers and their children. 

All the applicants fulfilling the eligibility criteria below can apply for COMSATS worker welfare fund scholarships till 28 July 2021. In COMSATS Lahore and Islamabad campus, Labour Quota admissions on Scholarships are also open. The Labour Department of the Punjab Government will pay all the expenses of the PWWB Quota students. Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility requirements for the above scholarship program are below.

• The workers/miners or their children from all over Pakistan are eligible to apply.
• A candidate qualifies as the labour department worker if he satisfies the definition of the worker as mentioned in the Industrial Relation Act, 2010.
• 1-year work experience is necessary for the applicant in a factory authorized under the Factories Act 1934 / Mines Act 1923.
• Any organization gets considered a factory if it satisfies the definition of a factory as mentioned in the Workers Welfare Fund Ordinance, 1971 / Companies Profit Workers Participation Act, 1968.
• The offspring of deceased/ disable workers can also apply for this scholarship. They have to mention that the worker got deceased or disabled during service, registered under the EOBI/ Social Security. And his widow or legal heir receives the Death Grant from Punjab Workers Welfare Board or gets a pension from the EOBI.
• The applying worker/miner or his offspring seeking admission must not link with illegal activity or criminal proceedings.

How to apply

• Go to the official website of the COMSATS Labour Quota scholarship program and get the application form from there.
• Fill it and attach the below documents:

1. CNIC of worker/miner.
2. Old Age Benefit Card / Security Card of worker/miner.
3. Factory Card / Employee Card with the designation of worker/miner.
4. Appointment Letter.
5. The Factory Registration Certificate (FRC) under the Factories Act, 1934 or Mines Act, 1923.
6. CNIC or Family Registration Certificate authorized by NADRA of the respective student.
7. Service Certificate of the student along with a certificate on good moral conduct.
8. The candidate has to sign an affirmation on stamp paper of Rs. 20. The affirmation letter mentions that if the student discontinues his education, the contender will pay all the education expenses back to the Labour Department.
9. If the worker/miner has any disability, then; he should submit proof of receiving a Death Grant / Disability Pension.

Financial coverage of PWBB COMSATS Labour Quota Scholarship Program

The PWBB COMSATS Labour Quota scholarship program will cover the following expenses of the students: 

• Tuition fee,
• Hostel fee
• Transportation cost.

The scholarship program will financially assist the candidate till the completion of the degree program. If the candidate fails or repeats the degree, then; he will pay the expenditure of the degree program as per CIIT rules & regulations.
