The School Education Department in Punjab recently published an official notification regarding the Jashan-e-Baharan festival. The School Education Department has decided to announce the celebration of Jashan-e-Baharan in the Government or Public Schools across the Punjab Province. The competent authorities are directed to follow the activities relevant to the Jashan-e-Baharan.
Now you must be thinking, what is Jashan-e-Baharan? So, Jashan-e-Baharan is a Plantation drive in public schools under the slogan “one child, one plant .”This scheme aims to engage the students in plantation, and the relevant plant will be named after the student regarding who will look after the plant.
According to the notification, 16th March 2023 will be regarded as Cultural Day, and students will dress in traditional and cultural clothing during school.

From 12th to 16th March 2023, several plantation relating activities will occur across Punjab. These activities include flower shows, debates, cultural activities, dramas, funfair, and others. However, the annual exams scheduled during the Jashan-e-Baharan activities will be fine. The basic aim behind the celebration of the Jashan-e-Baharan is to glorify cultural and traditional values among the students. This interaction will develop their understanding of their core traditional and Punjab culture.
