On Sunday, the Federal Education Minister issued the Single National Curriculum from grade 1 to 5. They request all schools to start teaching and implement this SNC. While addressing a press conference in Islamabad, they clearly announce that action taken against those schools who will not implement this SNC. It is mandatory for all private and government schools to teach the core subjects which are part of the SNC.
Majority of private schools are not teaching this curriculum. Also, separate curriculums prepared for the minorities living in the country to promote religious harmony. The Single National Curriculum will introduce the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training in consultation and collaboration with education departments of all federating units of the country. This year, the government will only issue SNC for grade 1 to 5. However, they going to launch SNC from grade 6 to 8 on 2022-23 and the curriculum for grade 9 to 12 will be introduced on 2023-24.
Apart from all this, the government also made Holy Quran study compulsory in all schools and colleges. Moreover, they also the detailed schedule of teaching Holy Quran.
